Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Price Dope (pricedope.com), collects when you use the site and how it is used.
Information we collect
- No account is needed to browse. We do not ask for your name, address or payment details.
- Outbound clicks: when you click through to a retailer, we record which offer was clicked, the time, the referring page, and one-way hashed values derived from your browser and network. Your raw IP address is not stored with these records.
- Server logs: like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
- On your device: your watchlist and display preferences (such as light/dark theme) are stored in your browser's local storage and are not sent to us.
If you contact us, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your email address and message.
How we use it
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
- To understand which retailers and offers are useful to visitors, in aggregate.
- To report aggregate referral activity to retailers or affiliate networks where we have a referral relationship.
- To reply to messages you send us.
We do not sell your personal information.
Retailers and other sites
When you leave for a retailer's site, that retailer (and any affiliate network involved in the link) may use cookies or similar technology to track the referral and your purchase. Their privacy policies apply once you are on their sites.
Age
The site is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
