About Price Dope

What we do

We collect product and price information from retailers and distributors, match listings to the same product, and show you who has it, at what price, and whether it is in stock.

For ammunition we calculate cost per round (price divided by the round count) whenever the round count can be read from the product details, so a 50-round box and a 1,000-round case can be compared fairly.

What we don't do

• Price Dope does not sell firearms, ammunition or any other product.
• We do not process payments, hold inventory, ship orders or perform firearm transfers.
• Every purchase happens on the retailer's own website, under that retailer's prices, policies and legal checks.

Honest data

Prices change constantly. Every offer shows when we last checked it, and offers that have not been re-checked recently are marked stale or hidden instead of being presented as current.

D.O.P.E. (Data On Previous Engagements) is our price history: we keep a record of an offer's price and stock status whenever either one changes, and on checks at least an hour after the previous record, so you can see how today's price compares with what we have seen before.
