Shotgun ammo
12 Gauge ammo prices
12 gauge is one of the most common shotgun bores, used for clays, upland and waterfowl hunting, turkey, deer and home defense. Shells are grouped by payload: birdshot (small shot for clays and birds), buckshot (larger pellets such as 00 buck) and slugs (a single projectile).
Shells come in 2¾-inch, 3-inch and 3½-inch lengths. Never fire a shell longer than the chamber length marked on your barrel. Federal rules require nontoxic shot for waterfowl hunting, and many states add their own requirements, so check current hunting regulations.
Prices are ranked by cost per shell, so a 25-shell box and a 250-shell case compare fairly. Each offer shows when it was last checked, and D.O.P.E. price history shows how prices have moved.
